Young Artists Exhibition (2026-2027)
As a major community-impact outreach, the Artists Council (AC) held its first Young Artists Exhibition in 2022. This now annual event is based on themes selected by art teachers from 17 public/private High Schools located throughout the Coachella Valley, from Palm Springs to Thermal. The AC coordinates with the teachers to encourage student artists to create and submit artworks that express their interpretation of the annual theme. We then jury and curate the entries, also arranging for framing of the artwork so these young artists can experience how it is to have their work on display in a professional gallery setting. We believe that when young artists are supported, they gain the chance to build skills, confidence, and a stronger sense of identity. The people around them gain something too: new ideas, new stories, and new ways to connect across age groups, cultures, and lived experiences. Art becomes more than a personal outlet, it becomes part of community life. The Young Artists Exhibition is on display each spring at the Artists Center in Palm Desert, home of the Artists Council and recognized as one of the most stunning venues for art exhibits in Southern California.
