Lobos Healing Garden (2025-2026)
Students will have the opportunity to cultivate plants, herbs, and food, learning a valuable and healthy skill that offers both literal and metaphorical rewards. The garden will also provide a peaceful, calming space where students can de-stress and reflect. In addition to being an educational tool, the garden will host meetings, circulos for students and staff, parent/community gatherings, and club activities, fostering a strong sense of community, connection, and overall wellness. The vision for the gardens is to have an enclosed wall and shade structure. We would like it to include gardening of plants and produce, furniture, and all the necessary tools for students to nurture the garden.
Post Secondary Campus Tours (2024-2025)
Expose Seniors to different educational institutions throughout the school year so they can firsthand see their educational options. Lobos FC prepares high school students for college and career success. Club members live in the Coachella Valley, and the majority come from low-income Latino families. Three tiers: Tier 1: Students and parents attend post-secondary planning workshops; Tier 2, students meet in workshops to prepare for post-secondary decisions; and Tier 3, where students implement these lessons and actively make decisions. Workshops focus on specific goals, such as FAFSA/Dream Act completion and application submission. The program also transports students to college fairs and college campuses outside of the Coachella Valley. By guiding students through each step of the process, Lobos FC makes the post-secondary experience an exciting and attainable goal.
